TSG Welcomes Dave Jackson as Director of TSG Power

TSG UK is pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Jackson as Director of TSG Power, the newest division in its expanding New Energies portfolio. Dave joined the company in September 2025, bringing with him a wealth of experience in energy infrastructure and a clear vision for the future of sustainable power in the UK.

Dave’s career began at Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE), one of the UK’s largest energy companies, where he spent 17 years advancing from electrician to project manager, then regional manager overseeing new electrical projects. In 2018, he was given a blank slate and tasked with creating a brand-new Independent Connections Provider (ICP) division from scratch. Under his leadership, the department grew into a £50 million operation, delivering high-voltage connections and infrastructure nationwide.

Reflecting on that journey, Dave credits his success to the strength of the team around him. “You need the right people with the right mindset,” he says. “When individuals grow and departments thrive independently, that’s when you know you’ve built something that lasts.” His approach is rooted in psychological safety, encouraging open dialogue and collaboration. He believes innovation comes from people who feel empowered to speak up and contribute.

Having reached the pinnacle of his work at SSE, Dave was ready for a new challenge. He saw in TSG UK a company with ambition, drive and a clear commitment to the future of energy. “TSG has the hunger to make a real impact in the energy industry,” he explains. “I want to help build TSG Power into a business that leads the way in sustainable infrastructure.”

Dave’s mission is simple and yet very powerful:

“To deliver high-quality, reliable energy connections that support the UK’s transition to smarter, greener solutions.”

His vision is equally clear: to establish TSG Power as a leading UK ICP, enabling businesses to decarbonise, decentralise and digitise their energy operations.

In the short term, Dave’s priority is to build a strong pipeline of opportunities and deliver a full project, from initial discussion through design and installation to energisation, within the first year. “These projects are often complex and can be slow slow-moving,” he says. “But with the right planning, groundwork and effective collaboration, we can make it happen.”

TSG Power is already working with major last-mile delivery companies to upgrade power at logistics sites, enabling fleet electrification. Dave sees huge potential in commercial and industrial developments, including warehousing, data centres, retail parks and town centre regeneration. He is particularly focused on building strong relationships with key developers and partners, as well as leveraging existing relationships with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Independent DNOs (IDNOs) and local authorities to ensure smooth project delivery.

The broader construction industry has faced significant challenges in recent years, including the impact of COVID-19 and Brexit, as well as rising construction costs and labour shortages. But Dave is optimistic. “We’re now seeing signs of a sustained recovery,” he says. “This has been helped by the electrification of transport, the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the global shift towards renewables – all of which are contributing to create real momentum.”

TSG Power will also work with Skerritts, TSG’s electrical engineering and contracting arm, to offer turnkey energy solutions. Together, they offer a complete service, from grid connection to site fit-out, under one umbrella. “There are real synergies between the two TSG businesses,” Dave explains. “To be able to offer an end-to-end solution like this to our customers is fantastic.”

In the EV space, TSG Power will support TSG Charge by securing grid connections, building substations and liaising with councils and other stakeholders to bring charge hubs to life. Dave sees this as a vital part of the UK’s energy transition and is committed to helping businesses make the shift to low-carbon transport.

Beyond the technical, Dave is driven by people. He takes pride in mentoring and supporting those around him, and finds real satisfaction in seeing others succeed. “I’ve worked with some brilliant people over the years,” he says. “Seeing them develop and achieve their goals is what I find most rewarding.”

Outside of work, Dave enjoys spending time with his wife Alex and their nine-year-old daughter, Emily. He’s a keen DIY enthusiast, enjoys reading and films, and likes to keep fit when time allows.

Henry Simpson, Managing Director of TSG UK, commented:

“We’re delighted to welcome Dave to the team. His experience, leadership and passion for sustainable energy make him the ideal person to lead TSG Power. He will play a key role in helping us deliver the infrastructure that supports the UK’s progression to new energies.”

With Dave at the helm, TSG Power is destined to become a driving force in the UK’s energy transformation, delivering reliable, future-ready solutions that help businesses thrive in a changing world.
