In September 2025, TSG took over Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s service operations in eight European countries, including seven in the Nordic and Baltic regions. More than 380 service technicians, engineers and project managers moved over to TSG.
For many petrol stations in Sweden, Norway and Finland, Gilbarco has for years been the name associated with the people who came out to service the pumps and terminals. It is the same team that comes out today. They just work for TSG now, and behind them stands an organisation that can do more than before.
The experience came with them
The acquisition was first and foremost about people. Technicians who have known the same equipment and the same sites for many years became part of TSG, and customers kept the people they knew.
TSG is currently an authorised installation and service partner for Gilbarco Veeder-Root and also sells and services Tokheim equipment from Dover. This means that TSG is behind two of the leading brands in the forecourt sector.
Together with TSG’s own staff, there are now service teams in all seven countries and over 5,300 stations under direct service in the region. Behind them stands the TSG Group, which operates in 30 countries.
From one brand to many
Under Gilbarco, service was mostly about one brand. Under TSG, the same technicians service equipment from several manufacturers, on both the fuel side and the charging side. For a station owner, this means the choice of dispenser or charger no longer decides who comes out to service it.
Service is at the heart of TSG. The responsibility does not end once the equipment has been installed. It is the technicians, the spare parts and a partner who take responsibility afterwards that keep a site running year after year. The job is to keep customers' systems up and running.
Systems and payments bring it all together
The second thing TSG brings is systems and payment. TSG supplies and services payment solutions for both fuel and charging, from the terminal at the dispenser to payment at the charger, as well as the systems that run the station.
This really comes into its own when a fault lies between two systems. If the dispenser, the charger and the payment terminal are each supplied by a different provider, time can be wasted trying to work out whose problem it is. If everything is handled by a single partner, it is that partner’s problem from the outset.
The full range under one roof
Today, TSG covers far more than just fuel pumps. On the fuel side, this includes tanks, dispensers from manufacturers such as Gilbarco and Tokheim, monitoring and compliance – even for customers with multiple sites.
On the charging side, TSG builds and maintains depot and fleet charging systems using DC fast chargers and load management, ensuring that the grid connection is utilised to the full. Where the grid sets a limit on how much can be charged, charging can be combined with a battery system. In Denmark, sister company NRGreen also supplies battery systems and solar panels as stand-alone solutions.
TSG also builds turnkey gas filling stations for CBG and LBG, covering everything from delivery, installation and commissioning to servicing and maintenance. On the systems side, TSG handles payment at both dispensers and chargers, station management and card cross-over, enabling stations to accept several European fleet and truck cards.
Behind it all are TSG’s own technicians in all seven countries.
From fuel to electricity
Most stations and fleets will run on both fuel and electricity for many years yet. Heavy trucks have only just started to go electric, and depots need both side by side.
TSG is the right partner for this transition too. Stations and fleets must be able to continue operating on fuel today whilst transitioning to green energy sources such as biogas, charging and battery systems, with the same technicians and the same level of responsibility throughout.
What this means for customers
For former Gilbarco customers, the most important thing is what hasn’t changed: the technicians who know their systems are still the ones who come out to service them. What’s new is what’s behind them. A comprehensive service organisation, multi-brand servicing and the option to combine refuelling, charging, battery systems, gas and payment with a single partner.
In the end, it comes down to uptime. When a site is down, drivers go elsewhere. The goal is for the dispensers, chargers and payment to work when they arrive.
