TSG led the realisation of a turnkey solution project to provide 20 150 kW fast-charging places for electric vehicles in the heart of Madrid – more precisely, on the third parking floor of Galería Canalejas, a high-end shopping located in a historical building in the city centre.
Revolutionizing the EV experience in the centre of Madrid
The Canalejas shopping mall sits at walking distance from some of the main landmarks of Spain’s Capital: the Plaza Mayor, the Prado Museum, the Retiro Park and the Royal Palace of Madrid. Now, the commercial centre disposes of an ERANOVUM EV hub, the largest in Madrid’s M30 motorway, the inner ring road of the city.
The project for the new charging hub was designed and installed by TSG Charge experts in Spain, and the result comprises 20 new charging points of up to 150 kW.
Such Destination Charging installation significantly changes the charging potential in the area and reinforces the commitment to more sustainable mobility in Madrid.
What is a Destination Charging hub?
The Canalejas installation is an excellent example of the Destination Charging type of project, in which leisure, hospitality and retail businesses have the opportunity to offer added-value parking services to their customers. That way they can provide EV chargers to the clientele for a quick charge while they are busy with shopping.
Fast-charging services are especially important in this scenario in which customers do not spend many hours on the site – for instance, when they only stop for lunch.
