Location: Texaco Service Station, Athleague, Roscommon
Services: Supply and installation of a truck stop pump and Outdoor Payment Terminal (OPT)
Supplier: TSG Ireland
Division: Forecourt / Fuel Solutions
The Project
Texaco Athleague needed to upgrade its fuelling facilities to support both commercial operators and domestic customers. Site owner Declan Jones turned to TSG to install a multiproduct truck stop pump and a 24‑hour Outdoor Payment Terminal, enabling continuous access to an expanded range of fuels.
The project focused on enhancing convenience, improving flow across the forecourt and expanding fuelling options to include diesel, petrol, AdBlue, kerosene and gas. With the site fully operational throughout the works, careful coordination was essential to maintain safety and minimise disruption.
Because of TSG’s established working relationship with Declan Jones, he appointed the team directly to oversee the supply and installation of all equipment. The client opted to appoint separate contractors for civil and groundwork activities, while TSG managed all specialist elements, including equipment integration, electrical connections and commissioning.
The Solution
TSG delivered a complete turnkey solution tailored to the layout and operational needs of the Athleague site. The project included:
- detailed site survey and installation planning
- delivery and installation of a new multiproduct truck stop pump
- installation of a 24‑hour Outdoor Payment Terminal
- integration of DERV, petrol, AdBlue, kerosene and gas
- electrical and system connections carried out by approved specialists
- full testing and commissioning of all equipment
- staff training and final handover
The work was completed by TSG engineers supported by specialist subcontractors where needed. The scope remained consistent throughout, with only minor adjustments made to optimise performance during commissioning.
Operating within a live forecourt introduced its own challenges, including managing traffic flow, working safely around customers and ensuring smooth integration with existing systems. TSG addressed these with careful scheduling, controlled work zones and close communication with the client at every stage.
All relevant health and safety requirements were followed, including electrical safety procedures and controlled access for any high‑risk tasks. The introduction of AdBlue also supports cleaner diesel operation, thereby reducing emissions from commercial vehicles.
The Result
The upgraded fuelling facilities have transformed the service station’s offering. With the Outdoor Payment Terminal providing round‑the‑clock access and the multiproduct pump accommodating a wider range of vehicles, the site now delivers far greater convenience for commercial and domestic customers.
The installation was completed on time and commissioned without issue, with the client praising both the efficiency and the quality of the work.
“The new setup has made a big difference to the site. The 24‑hour access and expanded fuel offering have been very well received by customers. The project was delivered efficiently and to a high standard.”
– Declan Jones
The enhanced facilities are expected to increase customer traffic and fuel sales, particularly among local haulage and agricultural operators. Ongoing service, maintenance and potential future upgrades will continue to support the site’s development.
This project demonstrates TSG’s capability to deliver flexible, modern fuelling solutions that improve convenience, support site growth and provide commercial customers with reliable access to essential products.
