TSG, the European leader in technical services for responsible mobility solutions, has received official validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets. This approval marks a significant milestone in the Group’s strategic roadmap, reinforcing its ambition to support the energy transition of mobility infrastructures throughout Europe. It comes as a new recognition of TSG’s structured and already well-advanced transformation, following the EcoVadis Platinum CSR rating awarded in 2024.
SBTi has confirmed that TSG’s near-term targets fully comply with its most rigorous standards and methodologies. The Group is now officially on a reduction pathway aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
A recognised framework to accelerate TSG’s Group strategic transformation as a leader in the energy transition.
The Science Based Targets initiative has confirmed that TSG’s commitments meet its highest standards. The Group is planning to reduce its direct greenhouse gas emissions (scopes 1 and 2) by 42% by 2030, based on 2023 levels. TSG is also committing that by 2030, 77% of its suppliers – representing most of its upstream emissions – would have set their own reduction targets in line with SBTi criteria.
TSG’s carbon emissions targets have been established through a scientific and rigorous process aligned with SBTi’s Criteria version 5.2.
This recognition is rewarding the job done by all TSG’s operational teams who have started by locally designing their own carbon trajectory on scopes 1 and 2, and deciding ambitious and detailed local actions plans with the goal to meet together the SBTi criteria at TSG Group level. This bottom-up approach, involving all TSG’s national entities, has played a key role in driving ambitious but realistic and operational actions aligned with SBTi requirements. It is embarking all TSG teams in their own energy transition.
It reinforces the Group’s efforts already underway across Europe to:
- Improve the energy efficiency of its sites and activities
- Transition its vehicles fleet by notably speeding up its electrification
- Build a shared approach with suppliers towards more responsible practices for the benefit of all TSG customers’ carbon footprint
These efforts are part of TSG’s global strategy to be a key enabler of the energy transition by offering at the core of its technical offers: multi-energy solutions for mobility, complete electrical solutions including battery storage, solar and energy management, and the right level of technical expertise to extend all equipment for mobility hubs’ lifespan.
A milestone that reflects TSG’s ambition to establish CSR as a cornerstone of its People management and operations.
This SBTi validation confirms the consistency of the shift managed by TSG to join and support its customers in their transition towards a more responsible mobility. It adds to other key recognitions such as the EcoVadis Platinum CSR certification, placing TSG among the top 1% of its industry for its sustainability practices.
It also reflects the Group’s ability to structure its transformation and scale its technical expertise, It also underlines how TSG’s decentralised model, strategically aligning responsible and agile local entities, enables the Group to deliver tangible results.
“This recognition is a new step in our engagement for the energy transition. It consolidates both internally and externally the TSG transformation journey in progress across all our operations. As acting responsibly is not optional, it’s the way we lead by example: we consider that our role as key enabler of the energy transition proposing technical solutions to our customers goes hand in hand with a strong internal commitment to reducing our own emissions, wherever we operate.”
