Generating and storing clean energy for everyday processes
Several industries use gases as a source of energy for their activities. Natural gas is important for power generation and heating, while hydrogen, until now, has been useful mostly in chemical processes. To reduce CO2 emissions and comply with climate change agreements, the industrial sector is adapting to increase the usage of more climate-friendly energy options. Hydrogen has the advantage that it can be stored, unlike electricity produced via solar, wind, or hydraulic power, which must be used immediately after its production.
