Project overview.

Between November 2024 and February 2025, TSG Switzerland SA delivered two fast-charging stations for electric vehicles on behalf of Electra, one of Europe’s leading operators of fast-charging infrastructure. The installations were carried out in Gebenstorf, in the canton of Aargau, and in Granges-Paccot, in the canton of Fribourg.

Both locations offer strong accessibility and high-traffic potential, supporting Electra’s objective to make fast charging as simple, quick, and accessible as conventional refuelling, while contributing to a broader national rollout.

The solution delivered by TSG.

We provided a complete, turnkey solution, covering all phases of the project from initial planning through construction to final commissioning. Each location required an individual approach to address site-specific technical constraints, climatic conditions, and tight delivery schedules.

We managed overall project coordination, construction planning, and on-site supervision. The scope of work included civil engineering, cable laying, electrical installations, and the assembly of the charging infrastructure.

At both Gebenstorf and Granges-Paccot, TSG installed two modular Alpitronic HYC fast chargers, delivering up to 300 kW of charging power. This configuration enables electric vehicles to recharge in less than 20 minutes, ensuring a fast, reliable, and high-quality charging experience for users.

We also coordinated the connection of the stations to the local electricity grid, working closely with regional network operators to ensure safe, compliant, and timely commissioning.

Results and Impact.

The successful delivery of these two stations represents an important milestone in Electra’s expansion into the Swiss market. The Gebenstorf station, located in a busy commercial area, is the first fast-charging installation of its kind in the region, offering convenient access for daily users and shoppers.

The Granges-Paccot station benefits from a highly strategic location near a major motorway, a hotel, and leisure facilities, making it particularly well suited for travellers in transit as well as visitors to nearby businesses.

Together, these installations contribute directly to Electra’s wider European ambition to deploy more than 15,000 fast-charging points by 2030. In Switzerland, Electra plans to install over 100 new charging points in 2025, with more than 600 targeted by 2027.
