The project aimed to integrate large-scale on-site renewable energy into Hørkram’s logistics operations by installing a rooftop solar power plant in 2024. The objective was to reduce dependency on grid electricity, lower CO₂ emissions and support the client’s long-term sustainability strategy, while ensuring operational reliability for a high-demand foodservice logistics environment.
Rooftop solar installation supporting sustainable logistics operations.
Project overview.
The solution delivered by TSG.
We, through our local Danish entity NRGreen, delivered a scalable solar energy solution supporting Hørkram’s logistics operations. The total installation comprises 6.5 MW of solar capacity, combining both rooftop and ground-mounted systems to optimise energy production across the site. Of the total capacity, 2 MW is installed on rooftops, while the remaining capacity is ground mounted.
We managed the full project lifecycle, including design, engineering, permitting, coordination with authorities, installation and commissioning. The solution was tailored to the operational requirements of a high-demand logistics environment, ensuring uninterrupted operations and reliable on-site renewable energy production.
Following the successful initial installation, Hørkram chose to further expand the project in 2025 with an additional 2 MW of solar capacity. The project was designed with scalability in mind, enabling a phased rollout and forming the basis for future renewable energy initiatives as part of Hørkram’s long-term decarbonisation and energy resilience strategy.
Results and Impact.
The project has significantly reduced Hørkram’s carbon footprint. By producing renewable energy directly on-site, the logistics centre strengthened its energy resilience and reduced exposure to volatile electricity prices.
Beyond the immediate reduction in energy costs and carbon emissions, the project has become a cornerstone of Hørkram’s long-term energy strategy. The decision to expand the installation in 2025 and plan additional projects for 2026 demonstrates how the initial solution delivered by us has enabled a scalable and future-proof approach to renewable energy across the client’s operations.
