Integrated photovoltaic and electric vehicle charging solution for a multi-energy service station – Case 1.

Along one of the most heavily trafficked roads in Slovakia, OMV Slovensko initiated the modernisation of a traditional service station to respond to the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions. The objective was to transform the site into a multi-energy station, combining conventional fuels with electric vehicle charging and on-site renewable energy generation, while maintaining operational continuity.

Project overview.

As part of this transformation, OMV Slovensko entrusted TSG Slovakia with the implementation of an integrated solution combining photovoltaic power generation and fast electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The project aimed to enhance the station’s sustainability profile by supporting electric mobility while reducing reliance on conventional energy sources.

In addition to electric charging, the site continues to serve a wide range of vehicles by offering traditional fuels, enabling a gradual and pragmatic transition toward multi-energy mobility.

The solution delivered by TSG.

We delivered a turnkey solution covering the design, installation, commissioning and long-term support of both photovoltaic and electric vehicle charging systems.

A modern photovoltaic system was installed on the station’s roof, using high-performance solar panels and high-efficiency inverters. The system supplies clean, renewable electricity to support the station’s core operations and contributes to reducing its carbon footprint.

To support electric mobility, we installed two Alpitronic Hyperchargers with a charging power of 300 kW, providing four fast-charging points for electric vehicles. The modular charging infrastructure enables fast and efficient charging for both passenger vehicles and commercial traffic.

In parallel, we carried out the installation and commissioning of the site’s electrical infrastructure and traditional energy equipment, including diesel, petrol and AdBlue dispensers, transforming the location into a fully operational multi-energy service station.

Ongoing support and maintenance services are provided by TSG to ensure continuous and reliable operation of all installed systems.

Results and Impact.

The upgraded service station now combines renewable energy production, fast electric vehicle charging and conventional fuels within a single, integrated site. This multi-energy approach allows OMV Slovensko to meet the needs of a diverse customer base while supporting the transition toward more sustainable mobility solutions.

By integrating photovoltaic generation with high-power charging infrastructure, the project demonstrates how existing service stations can be modernised to support electric mobility without compromising accessibility or operational efficiency.
