With the opening of its new Mercedes-Benz Truck Centerin the Senec Logistics Park in autumn 2024, Daimler Truck & Bus Slovakia aimed to bring sales, servicing and customer support for trucks, buses and commercial vehicles together in one central location. Sustainability played an important role in the project, both in terms of building design and future mobility solutions. As the commercial vehicle sector increasingly shifts towards alternative fuels, particularly electric power, the site required a suitable charging infrastructure to support internal operations, customer vehicles and future developments in electric mobility.

Project overview.

As part of the development of the new Truck Center in Senec, Daimler Truck & Bus Slovakia decided to integrate electric mobility solutions directly on site. The objective was to provide charging infrastructure for both commercial vehicles and passenger cars, complementing existing services such as vehicle sales, maintenance and fleet solutions.

TSG Slovak Republic was selected to support the project with its expertise in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, covering equipment selection, installation and commissioning. The charging stations were designed primarily for internal use, with plans to make them accessible to the public at a later stage and to further expand charging capacity along a highly frequented route between Pezinok and Senec.

The solution delivered by TSG.

We delivered the installation, commissioning and testing of two DC charging stations, providing a flexible and future-ready charging setup for different vehicle types.

In close cooperation with Daimler Truck & Bus Slovakia, we supported the selection of suitable charging equipment based on capacity and usage requirements. The installation was carried out by trained and certified we technicians, followed by full commissioning to ensure safe and reliable operation.

The charging infrastructure consists of two Alpitronic Hyperchargers. The first is an Alpitronic HYC400 ultra-fast charging station delivering up to 400 kW DC, primarily intended for trucks and commercial vehicles. With two connectors, it enables the simultaneous charging of two vehicles and offers high efficiency, making it well suited for fleet and heavy-duty applications.

The second station is an Alpitronic HYC50 delivering 50 kW DC, also equipped with two connectors. Its compact design makes it suitable for passenger vehicles and flexible use cases, while still allowing trucks to be charged when required.

We will also support the long-term operation of the charging infrastructure through warranty and post-warranty service, as well as regular maintenance, as a contractual partner of Alpitronic.

Results and Impact.

The installed charging infrastructure provides Daimler Truck & Bus Slovakia with reliable, high-power charging capabilities directly at its new Truck Center. The solution supports internal vehicle operations today while laying the groundwork for future expansion and public accessibility.

By integrating both ultra-fast and medium-power charging solutions, the site can accommodate a wide range of vehicle types, from heavy-duty trucks to passenger cars. The project reflects Daimler Truck & Bus Slovakia’s commitment to sustainable transport solutions and demonstrates how electric charging infrastructure can be effectively integrated into modern commercial vehicle facilities.
