TSG Portugal was commissioned to design and deploy a complete EV charging station at BP Vilar Formoso Norte, located on one of the busiest entry points between Portugal and Spain. The objective was to deliver a robust, safe and efficient charging area supported by high-quality civil works, electrical installation and full commissioning, enabling the Service Station to offer fast and reliable charging services to all users.

We delivered a turnkey solution covering every phase of the project. The scope included perimeter fencing and signage installation, excavation and preparation of the civil works, construction of electrical infrastructure, and integration of the chargers into the site’s power distribution system.
Our team carried out cable routing, grounding, transformer connections and installation of distribution boards, followed by the setup of the charging equipment.
After completing all electrical tests and verifications, we performed full commissioning to ensure compliance with safety regulations and optimal system performance. The project was executed in line with bp’s operational standards and tailored to the specific conditions of the Vilar Formoso site.
Results and Impact.
The new charging station reinforces bp’s strategic position along a major Iberian transport corridor, offering reliable EV charging to both local users and international travellers. The installation enhances the availability of public charging infrastructure in northern Portugal, supports regional decarbonisation goals and strengthens the Service Station commitment to sustainable mobility.
