TSG Italia completes the construction of the first Milence charging hub in Italy

TSG Italia completed the first Milence charging hub in Italy, located in Bagnolo San Vito, in the province of Mantua. Launched in July 2024, this project marks a significant step in the energy transition of heavy-duty transport, supporting the expansion of e-mobility in the country.

Milence, a joint venture between Daimler Truck, TRATON GROUP, and Volvo Group, entrusted the construction of its first charging station in Italy to TSG Italia, following a previous collaboration with the TSG Group for two hubs in Germany. This initiative contributes to the decarbonization of heavy-duty transport and promotes a wider adoption of e-mobility in Italy.

As a leader in technical services for responsible mobility solutions, TSG is in an ideal position to design, install, and maintain charging infrastructure, offering expert-led tailored solutions.

TSG Italia oversaw the execution of the civil and electrical works for the hub’s infrastructure, as well as the commissioning of the chargers, ensuring high standards of quality and design, along with optimal integration of the charging systems.

The hub covers a dedicated area equipped with five charging bays. The station features four 400 kW High Power Chargers (HPC) by Alpitronic, equipped with dual outlets and liquid cooling technology, ensuring fast and efficient charging.

In a second phase, additional chargers featuring Megawatt Charging System (MCS) technology will be installed to support the growing electric trucks deployment and further reduce charging times.

The selection of Bagnolo San Vito as the location for Milence’s first Italian hub was strategic: its proximity to the A22 highway and Verona makes it a key point for heavy-duty transport. The Brenner Motorway connects industries in the Po Valley and Modena with Austria, Northern Europe, and Southern Italy’s ports, playing a crucial role in both the national and European economies.

With this project, TSG Italia strengthens its position as a strategic partner in the transition towards more sustainable mobility, actively contributing to the development of a charging infrastructure that meets the challenges of modern logistics and the needs of truck drivers.

"We are proud to have contributed to the realization of the first Milence charging hub in Italy, a critical infrastructure for accelerating the transition of heavy-duty transport towards more sustainable solutions. This project was made possible thanks to strong collaboration and mutual trust among all partners involved, from the initial concept to the execution phase. We look forward to continuing this journey together, supporting Milence in the development of new charging stations in Italy and across Europe.
The opening of our first hub in Italy demonstrates our commitment to bring all industry stakeholders together, to create a platform that drives the next breakthrough in sustainable transport. This hub provides Italy with a solid foundation to meet the growing demand for zero-emission transport solutions. It marks a significant leap towards the future of road transport in Italy and across Europe as we move towards a sustainable and carbon neutral future.
