RBS and BSU rely on LOGmaster for modern and efficient depot management

TSG Switzerland has delivered a comprehensive bus depot management system for the public transport operator Regionalverkehr Bern–Solothurn (RBS) and Busbetrieb Solothurn und Umgebung (BSU), centralising and streamlining operations across their bus and service vehicle depots.

With intelligent, scalable depot management solutions for fueling, charging, and washing, the Worblaufen (BE) and Zuchwil (SO) sites have been set up to be future-proof, efficient, and ready for the mobility of tomorrow.

Modern mobility with tradition and a vision for the future

RBS and BSU jointly operate 4 rail lines and 29 bus routes in the Bern-Solothurn region, transporting around 32.5 million passengers annually. With over 630 employees, they provide reliable and sustainable mobility for both commuters and leisure travelers.

Their focus is clearly on the future: RBS and BSU are gradually converting their fleet to electric buses and service vehicles. The goal is to fully electrify operations by 2040, making an active contribution to a long-term sustainability strategy.

In June 2025, BSU and Busbetrieb Grenchen und Umgebung (BGU) decided to merge into Busbetrieb Solothurn Grenchen und Umgebung AG. This marks another important step in pooling resources and strengthening mobility in the region for the long term.

Complexity in depot operations: two locations, many challenges

Operating two bus depots, in Worblaufen (Bern) and Zuchwil (Solothurn), while managing multiple energy sources, including diesel, AdBlue, and electricity, as well as vehicle washing infrastructures, had become increasingly complex.

Each site relied on separate, isolated systems, making it difficult to maintain consistent operations, ensure data integrity, and gain a clear overview of all activities.

The solution: a unified depot management system

Addressing the challenges faced by RBS/BSU in managing multi-site, multi-energy operations, TSG implemented the LOGmaster depot management system solution, developed by ProFleet.

Both sites, in Worblaufen and Zuchwil, are equipped with FuelLOG, ChargeLOG, and WashLOG terminals, all interconnected through the LOG2host cloud platform.

This setup enables RBS/BSU to manage both locations seamlessly as a single, unified system, with all data centralised and accessible from anywhere.

The ProFleet system delivers full control over depot operations, with specific terminals for each function, all connected to the centralised cloud database.

The ProFleet system enables comprehensive control of all depot processes. Each function is managed via specially designed terminals that are fully connected to a central cloud database.

Vehicles and drivers are reliably identified using secure RFID tags. All relevant data is centrally recorded in the cloud and can be directly linked to the RBS/BSU ERP system. This ensures transparent allocation of operating costs at all times.
